1. Description
With our Outbound MMS Service you can send pictures, videos or sound files. These can be sent to your clients, staff or customers and are free to receive.
Alternatively, with our Inbound MMS Service you can receive pictures, videos or sound files from your clients, staff or customers directly to your nominated email address.
2. Example Uses
There are hundreds of example uses for either of our Outbound or Inbound MMS Services, here are just a few:
- Council Services
People could send photos of potholes, vandalism, etc. directly to the relevant assessors email inbox and so save Councils money and time.
- Insurance Claims
Insurance companies could receive photo’s of motor of household accidents directly to the email inbox of the relevant assessor.
- Classified Adverts
Classified advertisers could receive the relevant photos from their customer’s phone and then place this directly on the relevant advert.
- Internal Support
Field workers, such as engineers, could send pictures of the faulty equipment straight back to a specialist for advice.
- Product Launch
With our Outbound MMS Service you could send your best clients an MMS with pictures and copy of a new product prior to its launch.
- Estate Agents
In conjunction with a short code, people could text in a property number and immediately receive an MMS reply containing details of the property with pictures of some of the rooms.

5. Outbound MMS Technical Information
In order to send an MMS file out across all UK networks we will need an SMIL file of less than 100kb.
For sending an MMS, this is currently the maximum size supported by all networks. So, for the time being Outbound MMS is best for sending pictures, sounds and words as 100kb is plenty for this. However, for video files this equates to roughly 6 seconds – so these will need to be quite short.
We will update this page in due course because with each networks huge investment in this technology this will change during 2007/8.
6. Prices
Inbound MMS Service
It currently takes 48 hours to set up your own Dedicated Inbound MMS number. We do not contract you for any period but we invoice quarterly in advance.
